The earthquake reduced Nepal's several landmarks to rubble

Nepal had a bad dream four years back on April 25, 2015, when a massive earthquake of 7.8 magnitudes struck the country. It is known as The Gorka earthquake. It was a black day for the country as the death toll rose to 9,000 and more than half a million families in the central region lost their homes.

The iconic landmark 'Dharahara tower' was destroyed completely after the earthquake

Several heritage buildings were destroyed, including the iconic Dharahara tower, which was 61.88 meters tall. The people of Nepal were in distress. It was disturbing for the people to see their country get destroyed.

Nepal is still recovering. Some of the buildings that were demolished stay as they are. The progress is slow in terms of reconstruction. However, tourism in Nepal is back at its feet. The loss of some of the historic building will make you appreciate the remaining ones even more. The devastating effects of the earthquake are evident to the travellers visiting some of the popular sites. Conversely, you will be surprised to see the resilience of the people in Nepal and their happiness to see the tourists return. People are back celebrating their country. There is happiness all over Nepal once again.
